Ok, you want to check your mail server settings.  The best place to look where you would change these settings would be in the "Help" section of your mail program.  On this page, we will guide you through to where these settings are on Microsoft Outlook Express.

  1. Open up your mail program (the program you read your mail with), in our example here it will be  Microsoft Outlook Express.
  2. At the top, single click on "Tools".
  3. Come down to "Accounts" and single click on "Accounts".  You should see a screen like the image below.

  4. Make sure that you have clicked on the "Mail" tab to get this screen.
  5. Single click on the account that you are checking.  (Most people will have only one instead of two).
  6. Single click on the "Properties" button.  This should bring you to a screen like the one below.

  7. Fill in the blanks with your information, then single click on the "Servers" tab.  You should see something like the image below.

  8. Make sure this page is filled out correctly with your information.  Your Outgoing mail and Incoming mail should be exactly like the image above.
  9. Single click on the "Connection" tab.  You see a screen like the one below.

  10. Make sure that you have the proper button marked here.  The above setting should be correct in your case.
  11. That should be all the settings that you should check, now "OK" your way out, restart your computer and try to check your mail again
